When you are doing your affiliate marketing business, you will be spending a lot of your time and effort to promote the affiliate product. You will be expected to be rewarded with the commission from the merchant. It is thus important for you to know the payment system that the merchant has in paying their affiliates.

The 1st thing that you want to check is when you will be paid and the minimum commission that you have to earn before they will issue you the cheque.  You will be able to know how the merchant is going to pay you as they might pay you through cheque, PayPal, direct bank transfer etc.

The 2nd thing that you will want to check is the schedule of when they will be paying their affiliates. Is it going to be paid twice per month or you will be paid through the PayPal immediately if you have made any sales. This is very important as it will enable you to plan your cash flow. You might need the cash to pay for your bill or invest back into the business.

The 3rd thing that you want to check is whether the merchant is reliable or not. You will want to do some research on the affiliate program to check whether the merchant has send the payment to the affiliates on time and whether they have cheated the affiliate's money or not. This is very important as you will want to receive the commission.
